Zain Bahrain supports the GCC week for Cancer Walkathon ‘40 Prevention 40 Cure’
Zain Bahrain, the most innovative telecom operator, took part of the cancer walkathon in support of spreading awareness.
Extending its support to the cause, Zain Bahrain arranged many activities to spread awareness among the community around cancer and different ways of prevention.
During the walkathon, the operator presented raffle prizes and giveaways.
Zain Bahrain also organized an internal event to raise funds for the cause. Dr. Mariam Fida, member of Bahrain Cancer Society spoke to the staff to spread awareness. The Operator continued to promote its SMS donation line on its social media channels.
“Zain Bahrain has always been committed to support such events,” commented Pakiza Abdulrahman, Corporate Sustainability & Social Responsibility Manager of Zain Bahrain. “We are pleased to have used all our social media channels to highlight the importance of regular checkups and early detection of cancer.”
The title of the event reflects scientific evidence that suggests 40 percent of cancers can be prevented by healthy lifestyle and regular medical checkups, while another 40pc can be cured if diagnosed early and treated at the right time.
