NWS Blacksburg warns of NC dam in danger of being breached'

A dam in Ashe County, North Carolina is in danger of being breached, according to National Weather Service Blacksburg.

NWS Blacksburg says the dam was only 3 feet away from being breached.

According to the tweet by NWS Blacksburg, 'The Headwaters Dam in Creston, NC is in danger of being breached. Residents downriver of the dam at 5010 Three Top Road should evacuate.'

Ashe County Emergency Management officials also tweeted Sunday night that the dam was close to capacity and in danger of a breech. The tweet concluded by saying,'Anyone living downstream of 5010 Three Top Road should evacuate.'
