Curfew In Chicago Heights Continues Indefinitly
The curfew from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. in Chicago Heights will be in effect indefinitely.
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, IL — A curfew was in effect for a fourth night in a row in Chicago Heights on Wednesday, June 3 and will continue indefinitely. The curfew in Chicago Heights runs nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. after issues of civil unrest across the country, and locally in the Heights, following the police-related death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Commercial stores and restaurants were included in the curfews issued for the previous three nights. The Heights is one of a number of suburbs near Chicago which curfews have been set.
Civil unrest reported in Chicago Heights includes the burning of part of the Illinois Secretary of State facility on 209th Street and other incidents of vandalism reported at businesses in the city.

A spokeswoman for the city of Chicago Heights said the curfew will be in effect indefinitely, and posted on the city's website until an announcement is made of its expiration.
