Lack of election workers forces closure of Lavaca vote center
Sebastian County has removed a vote center from its November 2020 plans due to a lack of election workers.The Union Baptist Church in Lavaca will not serve as a polling place as originally planned because the county can't find enough workers to staff it.Sebastian County David Damron told 40/29 News in July he was worried about getting enough election workers during the COVID-19 pandemic."Ninety-five percent of our workers are in that high-risk category," Damron said at the time.The 2020 general elections will be held Nov. 3, 2020. Sebastian County has removed a vote center from its November 2020 plans due to a lack of election workers.
