Supreme Council for Women (SCW) assistant-secretary general Dhawiya Sayyed Sharaf Al Alawi has hailed Bahraini women's strides in medical field and in all health sectors in the Kingdom. This she said following a meeting with Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Bahrain (RCSI-Bahrain) president professor Sameer Otoom.
She outlined the SCW-led programmes under the national strategy which aims at empowering women and consolidating their gains. The two sides discussed joint cooperation to exchange expertise and integrate women's needs into national development programmes.
They also explored the establishment of a joint committee to put in place plans that support the empowerment of Bahraini women, promote research and studies. Five Bahraini women doctors spoke about their success stories in conducting studies and researches to serve Bahraini women and society.
