Aurora Man Charged With Residential Burglary, Identity Theft

AURORA, IL — An Aurora man faces charges of residential burglary after he allegedly burglarized four different homes. Frederick Spencer, 39, of the 300 block of South Fourth Street, is accused of committing five residential burglaries, according to a news release from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office.

Police say that on Oct. 26, 2018, Spencer burglarized a home in the 7000 block of Galena in Bristol Townhship and was also tied to a burglary later that day in Oswego Township. After an investigation in mid-August, police linked Spencer to three more home burglaries.

Spencer is further accused of stealing a credit card during one of the alleged burglaries. Police say he then was caught on video using the card at "several local merchants."

In addition to his burglary charges, Spencer has been charged with aggravated financial identity theft and unlawful use of a credit card. He is currently being held at Kendall County Jail on an unrelated charge.
