Recently, St. Michael's School in Mahnomen received a donated playhouse to be raffled off as a fundraiser.
This red barn with attached silver silo, displaying the stars and stripes, was donated by Wayne and Karen Ahmann of Ahmann Construction in Mahnomen.
St. Michaels Mahnomen, a faith based, non-public school, relies heavily on donations, grants, and volunteers to keep the school operational.

“Several generations of our family have attended St. Michael’s School," says Karen Ahmann. "For our own children, we chose St. Michael’s School because we appreciated the small class sizes and the faith based education. We feel our family received a wonderful education at St. Michael’s and we want to give back.
"Our donation of these playhouses is one way to do that. Over the years Wayne has had a lot of fun finding new designs and ideas for the playhouses. It is our way of saying 'thank you' to St. Michael’s School.”
St. Michael’s School staff and students are selling raffle tickets for the playhouse at $10 each. You can also get tickets by calling the St. Michael’s Parish office (218-935-2503) St. Michael’s School office (218-935-5222), Bendickson’s General Store in Bejou and Cenex Pump 24 in Mahnomen. The drawing will be held on May 26, the last day of the 2020-21 school year at St. Michael's.
