Washington, DC – The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), the Voice of the Recycling Industry™, announced that Senior Vice President Holly Arthur has been named the association’s new Chief Operating Officer (COO). As COO, Arthur continues her responsibilities of overseeing all revenue generating departments and organizational strategic planning.

“We are thrilled to name Holly as ISRI’s Chief Operating Officer based upon her positive leadership in key areas over the past three years,” said ISRI President Robin Wiener. “Holly brings a positive leadership and problem-solving style that is helping the organization as we evolve many of our business areas and grow our membership.”

During her time at ISRI, Arthur has led the way in helping to digitally transform the association—particularly the successful shift from print to online delivery of ISRI news products—while also helping to expand marketing, communication, and membership retention and sales efforts. She will continue to provide strategic oversight of communications, marketing, membership, meetings and events, education and training, and business technology/IT.

“It is an exciting time to be a part of the recycling industry, and I am honored to be in a position to help ISRI and serve our members as we capitalize on even greater opportunities on the horizon,” she said.

Arthur is an accomplished communications strategist and practitioner, with experience as a journalist, in government, public relations firms, and both large and small trade associations representing highly regulated industries. Prior to her service at ISRI, she held positions as vice president of communications with the Portland Cement Association (PCA), the Association of American Railroads (AAR), and Ogilvy Public Relations.

She holds a graduate degree in Business Administration from University of Limerick, Ireland, and a Bachelor’s in English from Randolph-Macon College in Virginia.
