Turner Construction the company building the new Aspen Aerogels, Inc. plant in Statesboro will be hosting a Community Information Session for the plant II manufacturing project.
The Community Information Session is slated to occur on Thursday, Sept. 22, from 4-6 p.m. The event will be taking place at Ogeechee Technical College, in the Joseph E. Kennedy Building.
The information session will cover a variety of topics regarding the project, which includes the following:

About Aspen Aerogels Plant II
A 500,000-square-foot advance manufacturing facility situated on a 100-acre parcel in Statesboro, GA. The project includes a raw materials warehouse, manufacturing plant, an office and employee amenities building, central utility plant, and tank farm. The project scope includes preconstruction and construction management for a production facility for high-performance thermal barriers used in the EV and battery supply chain, among other applications. The project also entails over 160,000 linear feet of process and hydronic piping. The large Central Utility Plant serves both process and facility systems. Additionally, the plant will host several classified areas requiring specialized HVAC, Electrical, and Fire Protection systems.
Construction of the project is scheduled to be completed in December 2023.
