Grey's Anatomy fans may not ever see Sandra Oh return to the series, but she has reunited with some old friends this week.
Oh got to spend some time with former Grey's co-star Chandra Wilson and creator Shonda Rhimes when they all attended the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday (September 12).
Wilson and Rhimes were both in attendance to present awards at the gala, while Oh was nominated for Killing Eve in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category won by Euphoria's Zendaya.
Still, Rhimes' production company Shondaland celebrated the reunion with the photo caption: "We love to see it."
The Grey's Anatomy team have expressed hopes Oh will return someday as Dr Cristina Yang, but the actress explained last year she's relucant to look back at the medical drama series.
"In some ways, you do your work as a bubble and you let it go. I left that show, my God, seven years ago almost. So in my mind, it's gone. But for a lot of people, it's still very much alive. And while I understand and I love it, I have moved on," she told The Los Angeles Times' Asian Enough podcast.
"So please come with me to Killing Eve and on to [Netflix series] The Chair and on to the other projects. Come see the characters that I'm playing that are much more deeply integrated in… the Asian American experience."
This has clearly been a big week for Grey's Anatomy reunions, as Ellen Pompeo also teased working with her former co-star Patrick Dempsey after meeting up at D23 Expo.
Grey's Anatomy returns for season 19 on October 6, airing on ABC in the US. In the UK, seasons 1-17 are streaming on Disney+, while season 18 is available via Sky Witness and NOW.
