Seattle throws parade on Tuesday for MLS Cup champion Sounders

Sounders Parade DL

The Seattle Sounders did plenty of celebrating in Toronto after winning their first MLS Cup on Saturday … and there was a lot more to be done back home with a parade thrown by the city on behalf of the champions.

The march kicked off at 11 am PT at Westlake Park on Fourth Avenue and Pine Street. The championship Sounders FC players and coaches then traveled via Emerald City Trolleys through the city onto the Seattle Center grounds.

The rally portion of the event took place on the Fisher Lawn and fountain mall at Seattle Center, which represents a special location for the club: Sounders FC began playing matches at Memorial Stadium in 1974.
