AN AIRLINE worker has revealed the gross reason you should never wear shorts or a skirt when travelling on a plane.
Suezanna, who goes by the name suezannaj on TikTok, revealed why after conducting an experiment in the cabin.

In her video, she swabbed the seats of a plane before putting the bacteria in a petri dish and showing the results of her experiment on TikTok.
In the video, she said: "I wanted to see how dirty these aircraft seats really are, so I took it upon myself to do a test.
"Here you have it - aircraft seats are pretty much dirty as hell.
"Why are there so many different types of bacteria on this one seat alone? Why is it so cloudy like that?"

Suezanna then warned people against wearing clothing that would put your skin in contact with those seats and urged people to sanitize before sitting down.
She said: "It just makes you think about all the people who wear shirt sleeved shirts, or short shorts on a plane, or those really short skirts.
"Your skin is touching these dirty seats. Clean the seats before you sit on them."
The video provided some people with the proof they needed to see to justify their behaviour on flights.

One said: "This is the main reason why I always wear long sleeves and pants. I never could prove it, but now I have the proof thank you."
A former airline worker also commented on the video, explaining how rare it was for seats to get cleaned.
They said: "I used to work for airlines and they don’t clean the seats unless someone vomits and it’s visible."
However not everyone was that disgusted by what they had seen, with one person saying it was probably nothing to be worried about.
They wrote: "Super fascinating and I too would definitely wipe down my seat, but our body’s immune system is strong enough to take care of stuff like this usually."
Plenty of flight attendants have warned against wearing shorts on planes before, saying that the seats are rarely cleaned.
Another airline staff member on TikTok, Tommy Cimato said: "Don't or try not to wear shorts when you're on an airplane.
"You never know how clean it's gonna be, so if you have pants [trousers], you're going have less germs."
