Randy Carl Blair

Randy Carl Blair, age 71 of Edmore, ND, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at the First Care Health Center in Park River, ND after having battled cancer for several years.

Randy was born November 5, 1950 to Carmon and Ella (Hosier) Blair of Jamestown, NY. He was the youngest of 2 sons having an older brother Lavern. Randy worked for Yorktown Industries in Lakewood, NY as an apprentice tool and die maker. He married Roselie Gagliano in 1970. Roselie had a son Robert and they had a son together, Randy Carl Blair Jr. Randy was recruited to work for Oneida Tool and Die in Smithfield, NC where he worked until being recruited in 1992 to work for Injex Industries in CA. In 1992 Randy married his present wife Susanne Biby Blair who had 4 girls from a previous marriage.

Randy’s family lived in California for 21 years before moving to Edmore, ND. He was actively involved with the fire department and as an EMT for the ambulance service. He was president of the Edmore Senior Center and worked part time as a bartender at the local bar. He maintained the pull tab machines for the community center and was a rural mail carrier for the Hampden route. In 2019 his wife accepted the position of Manager of Homme Dam Park and Re-creations in Park River where he was also employed helping his wife maintain the park.

By the summer of 2022 Randy was battling 4 kinds of cancer. Being a proud man, he did not wish for anyone to know the conflicts he was going through. Randy gave into the never-ending battle peacefully and although our hearts are broken the peace that we felt when he passed has given us strength.

Randy is survived by his wife Susanne Blair, Edmore, ND, sons: Robert (Tammy) Blair, Cattaraugus, NY and Randy (Nicole) Blair Jr., ID, step-daughters: Elisabeth Barbour, Edmore, ND, Jessica (Bo) Grabar, Phoenix City, AL Christine (Tim) Goss, Myrtle Beach, SC and Lisa Barbour, Placerville, CA; as well as 10 grandchildren.
