TODAY -- GOVERNOR ASA HUTCHINSON ANNOUNCED THAT THE STATE IS EXPENDING HEALTHCARE SERVICE TO REDUCE COSTS IN THE STATE, ESPECIALLY IN RURAL AREAS. THIS CAME AFTER THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT APPROVED THE áARKANSAS HEALTH AND OPPORTUNITY FOR MEá INITIATIVE. "I know the question is well how much is this cost, and this is an 80/20 split with the federal government where they pay 80% of the cost of this initiative, and the state pays 20%." THE GOVERNOR SAYS THE STATE WILL INVEST 3 POINT

Hutchinson announced a new health care program Tuesday morning.The program is called Life 360 and is part of Arkansas' Health and Opportunity For Me (ARHOME).Life 360 focuses on improved maternal care, mental health services and addiction services. It also includes support for people coming out of foster care and prison, as well as young adult veterans and young adults coming out of the juvenile justice system.The federal government is contributing $13.6 million to the program. Arkansas will spend $3.2 million.ARHOMEARHOME sends Medicaid funding to private health insurance companies to purchase insurance for Arkansans.People who make less than $12,888 are eligible for ARHOME without paying premiums.ARHOME replaced Arkansas Works at the beginning of 2022 as a health care option for people with a low income.
