RAIL BIRD ORGANIZED THERE SAY THEY ARE PLANNING ON DOUBLING THE NUMBER OF WATER STATIONS NEXT YEAR AFTER MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS AND HEALTH CONCERNS FROM FESTIVAL GOERS IN 2021. After a somewhat disastrous year in 2021, Railbird Festival in Lexington decided to take a break. Now, it's back in 2023.The festival announced via social media that it has been listening to feedback after 2021's event wasn't well received and is making improvements for 2023.One of the biggest issues festival goers complained about were long lines for getting water in 2021. Some people said they had to wait more than 45 minutes in the August heat to get water.Now, Railbird says that it will double the number of water stations, "ensuring quick and easy access to water."Other steps the festival is taking to make it a better event for those attending include:Additional bar frontage and staff on the groundsStandalone shade structures for people to cool off, along with three stages having tent structures that extend past the viewing areasOne unopened, factory-sealed water bottle will be allowed, along with refillable bottles being allowed"Fan experience is extremely important to us, and we heard your concerns loud and clear," read a Tweet from the festival. "We continue to work hard behind the scenes to elevate the Railbird 2023 experience."Next year's festival will be at a different venue, The Infield at Red Mile, and be held on different dates, June 3-4.Tickets have not gone on sale for next year's event.
