AND NEW TONIGHT, A 70 YEAR OLD PILOT FROM VERMONT IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER RECOVERING AT DARTMOUTH-HITCHCOCK MEDICAL AFTER OFFICIALS SAY THEY CRASHED A GYROCOPTER IN NORTH HAVERHILL AT THE DEAN MEMORIAL AIRPORT. INVESTIGATORS SAY LYNNE PERRY OF BRADFORD, VERMONT, CRASHED THE AIRCRAFT AROUND 1220 THIS AFTERNOON AND PERRY WAS FOUND UNCONSCIOUS BY A GROUP OF GOOD SAMARITANS WHO ACTUALLY SAW THE CRASH. A Vermont pilot crashed at a Haverhill airport Sunday afternoon, officials said.Haverhill police said Lynn Perry, 70, of Bradford, Vermont, was the only person aboard.The Federal Aviation Administration said an unregistered gyrocopter crashed at Dean Memorial Airport.Police responded at 12:21 p.m. when Good Samaritans walking by the airport saw the aircraft on the ground and the unconscious pilot.Haverhill first responders arrived and later transported Perry to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. A Dartmouth Health spokesperson said Perry is in critical condition. Police said further investigation will be through the FAA, NH DOT Aeronautics, and Rail and Transit authorities.
