'Abbott Elementary' (Season 2 - ABC)
The Emmy-award-winning series came back with more heart and bigger laughs as it took us deeper into the lives of its public school teachers. But its main wins came from the romance between Eddie and Janine and the Leslie Odom Jr.-led charter school storyline that will certainly have people re-thinking everything they know about the public school system.

'The Last of Us' (Season 1 - HBO)
It's one thing to make a great TV show, but it's an entirely different feat to turn one of the most beloved video game stories of all time into an equally amazing series. Thanks to the likes of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, The Last of Us proves that a high-caliber video game can be just as good in a new medium.

'The Legend of Vox Machina' (Season 2 - Prime Video)
Critical Role's iconic characters and D&D campaign continue on their adventure in a fun-filled second season that will almost certainly continue to add newer viewers to their long list of admirers. With the voice acting at top-notch and beloved moments coming to life in new ways, it's become a top watch even separate from its original campaign.

'Poker Face' (Season 1 - Peacock)
Rian Johnson continues to take over the mystery genre with this brand-new series that stars the one and only Natasha Lyonne as Charlie, a lie-detecting sleuth who runs into interesting characters as she travels across the U.S. in her Plymouth Barracuda. And with a big batch of guest stars and some joy coming from Natasha, it's a great balance of laughs and sleuthing that we come to expect from the director/creator.

'Jury Duty' (Season 1 - Freevee)
There is something completely freeing and also beautifully refreshing about this series. The premise is simple: a man believes he's actually participating in jury duty for a real case. However, everyone around him are really actors. It all results in a masterclass filled with some of the most incredible improvisational moments on TV from some brand-new favorite stars and one man whose big heart certainly gave people some joy and hope after a dark time. Oh, and James Marsden deserves an Emmy.

'Lessons in Chemistry' (Miniseries - Apple TV+)
Just when you think you know where it is going, Lessons in Chemistry pulls you in a completely different direction. With powerful performances from Oscar winner Brie Larson and Lewis Pullman, your heart and mind will be taken on a journey as Larson's Elizabeth Zott discovers more about herself and chemistry as she balances life, love, career, and family.

'Daisy Jones and the Six' (Miniseries - Prime Video)
With how much people have talked about this band in the last couple of years, it's kind of surprising to hear they aren't real! But all the drama and songs will definitely hook you in as Taylor Jenkins Reid's novel finally gets the small-screen treatment it deserves.

'Mrs. Davis' (Season 1 - Peacock)
For those still reeling from GLOW’s cancellation, here’s an upside: Betty Gilpin is starring in a wild new role. With AI's recent rise, there's no better time to tune in.

'Sweet Tooth' (Season 2 - Netflix)
If you need a little bit of hope or joy in your life, then you better go and watch Sweet Tooth. Despite going with a darker tone in its second season, the series continues to find moments of light as Gus and Tommy's adventure goes to the next level. Oh, and we have to also take a moment to commend the costume, special effects, and puppeteering teams who take an impossible task and turn it into something that will leave you in awe. It's a rare series that's a triple threat visually, acting-wise, and in writing.

'Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story' (Limited Series - Netflix)
Ever since Bridgerton premiered, fans have been hoping for a look into the lives of Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury, and Violet Bridgerton in their younger years. Luckily, Netflix gave us exactly what we asked for. But, as we already know, Queen Charlotte's love story doesn't necessarily have a happy ending. And what newcomers India Amarteifio, Corey Mylchreest, and Arsema Thomas create is a brand new dynasty that may be, dare we say, better than its predecessor.

'The Bear' (Season 2 - FX)
Get ready for another dinner rush that will definitely have you yelling out, "Yes, Chef!" The hit comedy series came back as Sydney and Carmy start up their new restaurant together, "The Bear". And even though we can't get enough of them, it's the starstudded flashback episode "Fishes" that will leave you with your jaw on the floor. And we also have to give a very special shoutout to Ebon Moss-Bachrach, whose journey as Richie might be one of the most profound storylines this year.

'Gen V' (Season 1 - Prime Video)
The gruesome and brutal Prime Video hit The Boys expanded its universe even further with a new series that follows a younger generation of supes who are trying to survive in The Hunger Games-style challenges at a superhero university. And we're giving it an A+ as it takes all the best of The Boys, raises the stakes, and makes us wish that season 2 was coming out ASAP.

'Doctor Who' (2023 Specials - Disney+)
Before the baton TARDIS is passed on to Sex Education's Ncuti Gatwa, David Tennant and Catherine Tate came back together for a new adventure that features Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor. Their reunion was one for the ages as one of the most iconic pairings in the show's history finally got back together and Tate's Donna, who arguably had one of the worst endings for a companion, finally gets the big goodbye that she deserves.

'My Adventures With Superman' (Season 1 - Adult Swim)
While Superman and Lois continues to give us an incredible version of a live-action Clark Kent, this brand-new animated series gives us the original Boy Scout back and it's clear that it's been a long time coming. With smart scripting, incredible voice acting from its three leads, and an anime-like animation style that fits perfectly, it is a refreshing and young adaptation that is also one of the few that truly gets who the real Clark Kent/Superman is.

'The Traitors' (Season 1 - Peacock)
Even amidst a strike that causes a surge of reality programming and re-runs, The Traitors remains the top new competition series that we still can't get enough of. With a mixture of familiar faces and some real-life people who get thrown into a game of lies and challenges, only the best can win and it delivered one of the greatest and most deserving wins in reality history.

'Game Changer' (Season 5 - Dropout)
If you do not have a Dropout subscription, this is your wake-up call. While the service offers other incredible shows like Dimension 20 and Dirty Laundry, Game Changer remains the streamer's biggest and greatest show yet. Every episode is different and with themes like a Shakespeare-themed episode, one filled with sexual innuendos, and another that will make you die of laughter over someone's reactions to birds, it's an incredibly good time thanks to its cast and their incredible improvisational performances. This series truly is a Game Changer for Dropout and, honestly, it's well deserved.

'Welcome to Wrexham' (Season 2 - FX)
In its bigger-than-ever second season, the series shifts away a bit more from its team and shows the incredible passion, beauty, and spirit of Wrexham as the town braces for another big chance to see their team win it all. Dare I say, that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenneys's continued support on this team isn't the most exciting thing about this series. Rather, the spirit of the town and its history continue to be the biggest pieces of the puzzle. And now combined with more focus on Wrexham's Women's Team (and the incredibly fierce Rosie Hughes), this is not just one of the best sports documentaries. It is also a must-watch series about a small town that, despite everything, survived and brought hope to people all around the world.
