Deputies looking for two vehicles following deadly hit-and-run on Burbank Dr.
BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is looking for two vehicles allegedly involved in a deadly hit-and-run on Friday, Jan. 20.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Burbank Drive and Bluebonnet Boulevard.
According to the EBR Coroner’s Office, Ethel Wesley, 71, was killed. Officials added that the cause of death was multi-system trauma due to a vehicle versus pedestrian strike.
Witnesses said that Wesley crossed the westbound lane of Burbank Drive on foot and was then hit by two vehicles, according to EBRSO. Deputies said the vehicles did not stop or notify emergency officials.
According to EBRSO, one of the vehicles involved is believed to be a 2009-2011 dark-colored BMW. Deputies said that both vehicles have moderate to heavy front-end damage.
