House on Fannin Landing Circle had been up for sale

A 6,000-square-foot home near the reservoir was destroyed by a fire early Monday. The fire on Fannin Landing Circle was reported about 2 a.m. and was under control by about 5 a.m., reservoir fire officials said. Firefighters said it was fully involved when they arrived at the scene."It appears to be a vacant home that is on the market. I think it's listed for sale," said reservoir fire chief Scott Berry. "There was fire coming out of the second floor. We consider it a total loss."Because the house was in a rural area, the closest fire hydrant was 2,000 feet away. The Langford Fire Department assisted with a tanker, but after three hours, they had to refill and change out crews, then go back to put out hotspots. Berry said the fire, although intense, didn't pose any threat to safety, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
