Labcorp to Pay $19 Million in Whistleblowers’ Blood Draw Case

Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings will pay $19 million under a settlement to resolve claims that it violated the False Claims Act by participating in a scheme to bill Medicare for blood drawing services that included kickbacks to doctors, according to a Monday press release.

The settlement between the company and whistleblowers Scarlett Lutz and Kayla Webster was initially announced in November 2022 with an order by Judge Richard M.
