>> LOCAL, LIVE, LATEBREAKING. WESH 2 NEWS STARTS NOW. RIGHT ABOUT NOW PEOPLE ARE FILING INTO THE WYNDHAM ORLANDO RESORT IN KISSIMMEE FOR THE START OF THE MISS ROSE DYNASTY PAGEANT. THE PAGEANT WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE PLACE AT THE DR. PHILLIPS CENTER BUT WAS MOVED BECAUSE ORGANIZERS WANTED TO HAVE THE EVENT WITHOUT ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS AND THERE WERE CONCERNS ABOUT COMPLYING WITH STATE LAW. THE MISS ROSE DYNASTY PAGEANT IS A DRAG SHOW. WESH TWO’S MICHELLE MEREDITH IS LIVE AT THE DR. PHILLIPS CENTER. REPORTER: THIS PROPOSAL WAS SO CONFUSING THAT THE EVENT HAD TO BE MOVED TO A HOTEL IN KISSIMMEE. FOR THE LAST SIX YEARS THE ROSE DYNASTY FOUNDATION HAS HELD A FUNDRAISER A PAGEANT FEATURING DRAG QUEENS AS THEY VIE FOR THE TITLE OF MISS ROSE DYNASTY. IT’S BILLED AS FAMILY FRIENDLY EVENT, CHILDREN ARE WELCOME, CONSIDERED A SAFE SPACE FOR EVERYONE. >> THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN SIT DOWN AND ENJOY IT. AND WHILE DOING THAT THEY’RE SHARING A MESSAGE OF LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE. REPORTER: ORIGINALLY TO BE STAGED AT THE DR. PHILIPS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, SATURDAY NIGHT THE ROSE DYNASTY RECENTLY HAD TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE. A PROPOSED STATE BILL SAYS THE STATE COULD REVOKE AN ESTABLISHMENT’S LICENSE IF THEY ADMIT A CHILD TO AN ADULT LIVE PERFORMANCE. THE PERFORMANCE DESCRIBED IN PART AS SOMETHING THAT DEPICTS OR SIMULATES NUDITY, SEXUAL EXCITEMENT, LEWD EXPOSURE OF IMITATION GENITALS OR BREASTS, AND PREDOMINANTLY APPEALS TO SHAMEFUL OR MORBID INTEREST. JASON DESHAZO SAYS THEIR DRAG SHOW PAGEANT DOES NONE OF THAT. >> AND WE’RE NOT ADULT ENTERTAINMENT, EVERYTHING IS APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES. EVERYONE IS FULLY CLOTHED, THERE IS NO SEXUALIZING. NO SEX ACTS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, IT’S ALL AGE APPROPRIATE. I BELIEVE IT’S A WITCH HUNT. THEY ARE TRYING TO FIND THINGS TO GO AFTER PEOPLE WHO ARE DIFFERENT FROM THEM. REPORTER: CONCERNED THEY MIGHT LOSE THEIR LICENSE, THE DR. PHILLIPS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER SAYS THEY TRIED TO GET CLARIFICATION FROM THE STATE WHAT AGE CHILD THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. BUT WHEN THEY COULDN’T, THE ROSE DYNASTY FOUNDATION REBOOKED THE PAGEANT TO THE ANOTHER VENUE. SOME FOLKS WE TALKED TO SAY THEY AGREE WITH THE STATE THAT A CHILD HAS NO BUSINESS AT ANY KIND OF DRAG SHOW AND OTHERS DISAGREE. >> I THINK THAT DECISION SHOULD BE LEFT UP TO THE PARENTS OF THOSE CHILDREN. IT’S NOT FOR ONE PERSON OR ONE GROUP OF PEOPLE TO DECIDE HOW EACH INDIVIDUAL SHOULD RAISE THEIR CHILDREN. REPORTER: THIS IS A PROPOSED A BILL, IT IS NOT BEEN VOTED ON. INVESTIGATORS SAY THE CRASH INVOLVES TWO CARS, A LEXUS AND A TOYOTA. IT HAPPENED NEAR U.S. 192 AND FOUR WINDS BOULEVARD. THREE PEOPLE ARE CONFIRMED DEAD. VOLUSIA COUNTY DEPUTIES TRYING TO STOP SOME MOTORCYCLISTS POPPING WHEELIES ON OLD DIXIE HIGHWAY NEAR WEST GRANADA BOULEVARD LAST NIGHT GOT MORE THAN THEY BARGAINED FOR. IT STARTED WHEN THE RIDERS ALL RAN A RED LIGHT AND KEPT ON GOING. ONE LOOKED BACK AND FLIPPED OFF THE DEPUTIES IN PURSUIT. RIGHT THEN JOSHUA RICHARDSON RODE RIGHT INTO THE PATH OF AN ONCOMING TRUCK, SENDING HIM FLYING. RICHARDSON WAS ABLE TO TAKE OFF RUNNING BUT HE DIDN’T GET FAR. HE IS FACING MULTIPLE CHARGES TONIGHT. ALSO IN VOLUSIA COUNTY, A 41-YEAR-OLD MIAMI MAN IS DEAD AFTER BEING HIT BY TWO VEHICLES. TROOPERS SAY IT HAPPENED JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT LAST NIGHT ON COUNTY ROAD 15-A NEAR OAK LANE. A PICK-UP TRUCK WAS HEADING NORTHBOUND WHEN IT HIT THE MAN WHO WAS SITTING IN THE ROAD AFTER BEING STRUCK BY A DIFFERENT VEHICLE. TROOPERS SAY THAT MAN DIED AT THE SCENE AND THE BOTH INC

Authorities in Indian River County said they believe they have found the remains that belong to a woman who has been missing for five years.

The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office said Friday, deputies responded to a boat ramp near Oslo Road where a fisherman found human remains in a mangrove coastline nearby.

The skeletal remains were found about 150 yards north of Oslo Road, along with personal items that made detectives think the remains are what is left of Assunta “Susy” Tomassi.

Tomassi went missing on March 16, 2018, when she was last seen getting into a white pickup truck behind a Publix.

    “While we await positive identification from the Medical Examiner’s Office, the Tomassi family has requested privacy at this time,” Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers said. “I personally met with the Tomassi family this afternoon as we hope to bring closure to them and our community members, many of which searched alongside our agency for Susy over the past five years.”

    The sheriff’s office said Flowers will brief the media once a positive identification has been made.
