Arkansas police are investigating an early morning shooting in Stamps, Arkansas that left an 18-year-old dead and a 16-year-old seriously wounded.
At 1:24 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office received reports of gunshots at a block party on 2nd Street in Stamps. The Stamps Police Department responded and discovered that two gunshot victims had been transported to the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in separate private vehicles.
According to police, Jaquarious D. Easter, 18, of Waldo was pronounced dead. A 16-year-old from East Camden is being treated at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock for injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.
Easter's body was taken to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory, where the manner and cause of his death will be confirmed.
