SEAL BEACH, CA — As the seasons continue to change, the American Red Cross's need for donated blood remains the same.

" A concerning shortfall in blood donations last month could stress the American Red Cross blood supply," an American Red Cross news release said. "The need for blood is constant, with someone needing a blood transfusion in the U.S. every two seconds."

According to the news release, the Red Cross collected over 26,000 fewer blood donations than needed in May.

In Seal Beach, residents who donate blood through June 30 will receive a $10 gift card by email to a merchant of their choice.

Plus, those who donate will automatically be entered for a chance to win a backyard theater package, including a projector and screen, projector tripod, smokeless fire pit, Adirondack chair set and a movie night snack package.
