NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The Nashville Fire Department (NFD) is on scene of a fire at a Nashville school.

NFD reports crews responded to Liberty Collegiate Academy Friday and extinguished a fire on the second floor of the school.

Video from the scene shows smoke still billowing from the second floor windows after crews tamped down the fire.

A company was doing work in the school when the fire started and approximately 20 students were on the first floor for a summer camp at the time. Students were checked by medics on the scene.

One of the workers was transported to the hospital in critical condition but died from his injuries. The school is located at 3515 Gallatin Pike.

NFD states "All students were checked out on the scene, and one student was transported with smoke inhalation. There have been numerous teachers who have also decided to be checked out on the scene and one teacher was subsequently transported. Both with non-critical, non-life-threatening injuries, and expected to make a full recover."
