A semi-truck driver lost control in Pocatello on Thursday morning, smashing into trees, payment boxes and a car.

It happened just after 10 Thursday morning at the 800 block of South Arthur.

Pocatello Police tell KPVI that the driver drifted off the road, hit the curb, a power pole, the trees and finally hit a parked car.

“Looked like he was going to be turning the corner but instead of coming around the road, he hit that tree, looked like he was headed straight for this house here on the corner and he must have turned the steering wheel just in time to where he hit the car,” says Tracy Davidson, Witness.

“we heard a loud noise, looked over, we seen the truck just come over on the sidewalk and it took out the two power bill drop boxes and it went through and took out the trees and then turned the corner and hit these two cars,” says Coressa Whitworth, Witness.

Investigators tell KPVI that they think the driver had some sort of medical crisis before the crash.

At last word, he was in critical condition at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.
