Woman complaining of heart attack suddenly disappears
A homeowner in the town of Killduff reported to 911 that a woman ran into the home saying she was suffering from a heart attack Thursday.The Jasper County Sheriff's Office said while the homeowner was calling 911 the woman apparently left the home.Deputies, Sully firefighters and EMS were sent to the home.A second call was received a short time later from another resident in the area reporting that a vehicle had just drove through their yard and into a bean field.About 10 minutes later, a third caller to 911 reported a suspicious vehicle was parked on their property near some outbuildings.Authorities said all three calls to 911 were from the same area. That triggered a Code Red alert being sent to residents in the area.Deputies arriving at the property of the third caller searched the vehicle and area, but couldn't find the driver.Additional officers from the Iowa State Patrol, Newton Police Department, Newton Fire Department, Prairie City and Monroe Police Departments and the Iowa DOT were called to the scene.A dog assisting in the search helped located a woman in the area about 1:36 p.m., authorities said.The woman ran into a pond and had to be rescued by deputies.Authorities said the woman was suffering from a medical condition. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her name and condition were not released.
