A downtown El Paso film café is back in business after being forced to close for almost six months due to sewage issues out of their control.

Aaron and George's Film Café will reopen Saturday at 6 p.m. after being shut down since October 2023.

The café, which typically screens free films on the weekends, will screen a double feature consisting of Hidden Figures and Promising Young Woman.

The café had to close after wastewater from the building next door flooded his establishment and even poured out onto the street.

KFOX14/CBS4 reported the issue in January as the cafe's owner, Douglas Winter, fought to find a solution as the landlord of the neighboring building was reportedly not cooperating to fix their plumbing issue.

Aaron and George's Film Café is located at 105 Texas Avenue, a block away from the San Jacinto Plaza.
