Phase four of road paving in Fountain Hills set

Panorama Drive starts April 8

Posted

The fourth and final phase of the Town of Fountain Hills road paving project for the current fiscal year begins Monday, April 8.

This phase of the project is the repaving of Panorama Drive from Saguaro Boulevard on the east around Fountain Park and reconnecting to Saguaro on the west.

This project is expected to take until April 25 for completion barring any weather-related delays.

Traffic will be allowed on Panorama with lane restrictions during the work. Drivers must obey all traffic signs and requests from on-site public safety personnel. Businesses located along Panorama Drive will have access to their locations.

Construction will not affect emergency services, which will have access 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Other service vehicles, like Republic Services, Post Office, and other delivery services, will also have access to homes during this project.

In 2022, the Town hired Roadway Asset Services to laser-test the entire road network to help determine which roads needed urgent repair. This report and review of the age of streets helped formulate the four-phase road repair and replacement plan for this fiscal year.

The first phase was in December 2023 to rebuild and repair the industrial area of Kiwanis Drive from Saguaro to El Lago boulevards, Enterprise and Colony drives. The second phase included the removal and replacement of pavement on Ibsen, Sherwood drives, Sterling Way and Ashbrook Drive between Fountain Hills Boulevard and Cameo Drive. Phase 3, completed in early March, was Jacklin Drive and Firebrick Drive.

The Town’s construction working hours are 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Contractors typically work between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. during the week.
