Queen Letizia of Spain looked stunning in a pink trouser suit as she attended an awards ceremony in Gandia today. 

The royal, 51, was effortlessly elegant as she attended the National Research Awards alongside her husband King Felipe.

The awards were created in 1982 and are presented to a total of 10 experts, with each one associated with different areas of science. 

Letizia stepped out in a colourful matching Hugo Boss co-ord, which consisted of a double-breasted blazer and smart belted-trousers.

She rewore this set last September, when she went to the UNICEF Spain Awards in Madrid along with her husband.

Letizia paired this with a sheer cropped white crochet blouse, which highlighted her sophisticated physique. 

The mother-of-two sported silver flower earrings and modest pink kitten-heels as she smiled for the cameras.

She also showed off her chic new cropped hairdo, which was styled by her personal hairdresser, Luz Valero, along with donning her classic glamorous makeup.

The flamboyant outfit was a stark contrast to what Felipe opted to wear, as he was sporting a classic grey suit.

He paired this with a blue patterned tie and a smart shirt, compete with polished shoes.

The Spanish royals presented the prizes to researchers in Spain who have performed outstanding professional work of international relevance in the fields of research and science.

The pair walked alongside each other and looked in high spirits as they chatted to Valencia's regional President Carlos Mazon, Gandia's Mayor Jose Manuel Prieto  and Spain's Minister for Science, Innovation and Universities, Diana Morant. 

It comes as Letizia and Felipe welcomed a disability champions to Madrid's Zarzuela Palace yesterday.

The Queen received a delegation of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI).

CERMI is the platform for representation, defence and action of Spanish citizens with disabilities, and represents more than 3.8 million people and their families.

It aims to advance the recognition of their rights to achieve equal rights and opportunities in society.

The visit to the Zarzuela Palace follows the recent reform of article 49 of the Spanish constitution dedicated to those with disabilities.
