Police: Mount Pleasant man charged with sexual assault, child enticement

GRAFTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Mount Pleasant man has been arrested and charged after officials say he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.

According to the Grafton Police Department, an investigation into 25-year-old Samael Torres began in December of 2022, when a tip came in from the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, and an investigation revealed.

According to police, the 14-year-old victim met Torres on social media before meeting him at his residence on multiple occasions. Officials say one of the encounters was video recorded and uploaded to the internet, which triggered an alert to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Torres was arrested and facing criminal charges including child enticement, second-degree sexual assault of a child, child sexual exploitation and more.

Torres' bond was set at $100,000 and he's being held at the Ozaukee County Jail. He's due in court for a preliminary hearing on March 18.
