The Clearwater County Chamber of Commerce held the March General Membership meeting at the Clearwater Saloon, in Orofino, on March 6, with 25 in attendance. Chamber thanks went out to owners Sydney and Marcus Briggs for hosting, and to Felecia and Clark McAbee, owners of Branch and Vines for serving some delicious appetizers they made from products available in their store.
Chamber President Malia Erlewine greeted everyone and went around the room with self-introductions, then introduced Clearwater Valley Health CEO Lenne Bonner to speak. Lenne gave a brief Bio on her 17 years with Clearwater Valley Health and family history in the area. She updated us on the Kootenai Health merge and over eight locations being served now.
Among the many services offered, she featured new integrations including: telehealth, rheumatology, vascular, cardiology, oncology, telepsychology, low dose lung cancer screening, behavioral health, sleep lab and in-home studies, pain management clinic, stroke care, and coming soon local chemo, Mammography Bus, and upgraded electronic medical records system.
There are also some new doctors taking patients now. Residents are encouraged to call for more information or to schedule a visit.Â
Erica Holland, Director gave an update on new membership including Generator Systems and Services, Debco Crushing, and YWCA Orofino Outreach.
She reported the TLC Foundation Bingo and Trivia Night event at the VFW was well attended and received a special donation from ICare, passing the torch to carry on the work they had been doing to serve community members affected by cancer.
The chamber will move to reporting quarterly financials at the membership meetings as approved by the board. Membership renewals have been coming in. Invoices were mailed at the beginning of February. If you haven’t received yours, please let the chamber know. Erica will be making followup calls soon.

Susan Jacobson, Director of Clearwater County Economic Development reported on Downtown Orofino Revitalization phases, Orofino Adventure Park project, Corporate Transparency Act filing, ADA kayak launch at Orofino City Park, Dog Park proposal for Champion Park, Food/Orchards Value Added Grants USDA, IFSR, REAP for energy efficient reimbursement, legislative changes to liquor licensing and hunting licenses for non-residents and Urban Renewal resources.
