An overturned gasoline tanker in Braselton shut down a section of Highway 53 for several hours Friday. All lanes have since been reopened.

The West Jackson Fire Department posted a photo to its Facebook page just after 10 a.m. showing the tanker completely overturned and appearing to have partially skidded off the roadway.

Highway 53 between New Cut and Hoyt Holder roads was shut down for a good portion of the afternoon to allow crews to clean up.

SKYFOX 5 flew over the scene shortly before 4 p.m. and spotted the truck had already offloaded its fuel. A tow truck was able to upright the tractor-trailer and was about to haul it away from the scene.
