The PGA Players Championship, widely regarded as one of the season’s most unpredictable and anticipated golf events, is finally here. The PGA’s premier tour will kick off on Thursday, March 14 from the TPC Sawgrass in Florida.

The Players Championship, which runs from March 14-17, will broadcast on Golf Channel and NBC, but cable-cutters can stream the event live online on ESPN+, Peacock and live TV streamers such as DirecTV Stream, Sling TV and Fubo TV.

ESPN+ will offer extended coverage through the streamer’s All-Access plan, providing exclusive early coverage and featured group coverage each day of the Players Championship beginning at 7:30 a.m. ET on March 14.

Among the field competing for the $25 million purse will be defending champion, Scottie Scheffler, who ran away with a 5-stroke victory last year, in addition to Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Wyndham Clark and Hideki Matsuyama. While Scheffler enters the tournament as the clear favorite, the Players Championship has never had a repeat winner, meaning the world No. 1 will make history if he can defend his title.

While eyes will be on these high-profile featured groups, this season has been largely defined by underdogs winning tournaments, so it’ll be interesting to see how golfers such as Jake Knapp, Nick Dunlap and Matthieu Pavon, who all have already won tournaments this season, will fare this week.
