Event Spotlight: First Annual Greenville Chili Cup

Grateful Brew

March 3, 1-5 p.m.

Tickets: $10-30, available here,

Nothing quite like a good cause and the promise of gallons of homemade chili to stir up interest. This first annual chili cookoff at coffee shop and tap room Grateful Brew promises a culinary adventure and spoils like a trophy, swag package and gift card to the victor.

Attendees of all ages—kids get a break on ticket price—will have the opportunity to taste and savor each submission before casting a ballot to choose the first ever reigning champion, until next year.

Proceeds from the event will go to Meals on Wheels of Greenville County, which makes it an entirely worthwhile way to spend a Sunday Funday. Speaking of which, event sponsor Allagash Brewing will make darn sure that ‘Funday’ part is handled properly.

In addition to the chili competition, the event will feature an array of craft beer from the taproom, as well as live music to really make it a party.

This listing is as much for the information about the event as it is a cautionary notice about the traffic and parking situation on that end of downtown at times traffic wouldn’t normally be an issue.
