Union County celebrates next step in finishing new medical center
JAMYA. YEAH, AARON, A MILESTONE HAS BEEN REACHED FOR A NEW MEDICAL CENTER AND THOSE ARE PART OF THE PROCESS. COULDN’T BE MORE THRILLED OF THE PROGRESS. IT’S THE TOPPING OUT OF THE NEW UNION MEDICAL CENTER, PLACING THE FINAL BEAM ON THE STEEL STRUCTURE OF OUR HOSPITAL. SO WE’RE VERY EXCITED THAT THAT PART OF THE WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND PLACE SOME SYMBOLIC PIECES ON THE BEAM. THE TREE IS TO REPRESENT THE. WE’VE COMPLETED THE HIGHEST POINT IN THE BUILDING AND ALSO THAT THIS BUILDING IS ONE WITH NATURE ON THIS BEAUTIFUL 48 ACRE SITE. IT ALSO BRINGS GOOD LUCK TO THE FUTURE INHABITANTS. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MILESTONE IN THE CONSTRUCTION PROCESS OF THE $55 MILLION HOSPITAL CAMPUS, AND OFFICIALS WANTED TO THANK THE CONSTRUCTION WORKERS. THEY’RE VERY DEDICATED TO TAKE A GREAT DEAL OF PRIDE IN THE WORK THAT THEY’RE DOING. AND, YOU KNOW, THEY’VE DONE A FANTASTIC JOB. SO WE’RE HERE TO REALLY CELEBRATE THE WORK THAT THEY HAVE DONE FOR US. ONCE THE CAMPUS OPENS, PEOPLE IN UNION COUNTY WILL HAVE ANOTHER OPTION WHEN IT COMES TO MEDICAL CARE. THERE’S A LOT OF TRAFFIC ON HERE. IT’S GOT A GREAT VISUAL FROM THE MAIN ROAD. WE’RE RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE INDUSTRIAL PARK, SO BUSINESSES THAT ARE LOOKING TO COME INTO UNION SEE A BEAUTIFUL BUILDING LIKE THIS WITH THE HOSPITAL. AND THAT REALLY GIVES THEM SOME, SOME CONFIDENCE. AND, YOU KNOW, BEING PART OF SPARTANBURG REGIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, WE’VE JUST GOT CONNECTED TO ALL THE ASSETS WE NEED TO GIVE GREAT HEALTH CARE IN THIS COMMUNITY. AND OFFICIALS EXPECT THE NEW MEDICAL CENTER TO OPEN EARLY NEXT YEAR. LI

A milestone has been reached for a new medical center in Union County, South Carolina, and those a part of the process couldn't be more thrilled of the progress. Thursday was the "topping off" ceremony of the new Union Medical Center. "Placing the final beam on the steel structure of our hospital. So, we're very excited that that part of the work has been completed," said Paul Newhouse, Union Medical Center President.And symbolic items, like a tree and the American flag, were placed on the beam."The tree is to represent that we've completed the highest point in the building. And also that this building is one with nature on this beautiful 48-acre side. It also brings good luck to the future inhabitants," said Newhouse.This is an important milestone in the construction process of the $55 million hospital campus. And officials thanked construction crews for their long work hours. "They're very dedicated and take a great deal of pride in the work that they're doing, and they've done a fantastic job. So, we're here to really celebrate the work that they have done for us," said Newhouse.Once the campus opens, people in Union County will have another option when it comes to medical care. "There's a lot of traffic on here; it's got a great visual from the main road. It's right across from the industrial parks. So, businesses that are looking to come into union see a beautiful building like this, with a hospital, and that really gives them some confidence. And being part of Spartanburg regional healthcare system, we've just got connected to all the assets. We need to give great healthcare in this community," said Newhouse. Officials expect to open the new medical center, early next year.
