MACON, Ga. — A man is dead after a motorcycle crash in west Macon Monday night, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

He says that authorities were notified of a crash at Cavalier Drive and Columbus Road.

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office says the call came in just after 5:30 p.m. Monday night.

Jones said that the victim, Willard Gilbow, would die from his injuries.

According to the sheriff's office, Gilbow was driving west on Columbus Road when he collided with a BMW X3.

Gilbow was taken to Atrium Health Navicent where Gilbow died, Jones said.

He says that Gilbow's family was notified of his death.
