With her second Oscar on the mantelpiece following Sunday's win for Poor Things, it would seem Emma Stone is looking to keep working with unique filmmakers. She already has Kinds Of Kindness, her third collaboration with Things' Yorgos Lanthimos on the way, and she's part of the cast for Ari Aster's new film, Eddington, alongside a notable ensemble that includes Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, Austin Butler and Empire Of Light's Michael Ward.

Phoenix, of course, starred in Aster's most recent release, the chaotic and divisive Beau Is Afraid. As for the new film? Little has been released about it, save that it'll reportedly be a Western following a small-town New Mexico sheriff with lofty aspirations. Given that this is Aster – the man also behind Hereditary and Midsommar — we'd expect that basic synopsis to conceal some lurking terror.

Backers A24 released an Instagram post about the new film, which also includes Clifton Collins Jr. and Deidre O'Connell:

Despite Beau's failure to spark success at the box office ($11.9 million from a $35 million budget), it would seem the company is still happy to be in business with Aster. The cameras will be rolling this week, and we're already predicting the nightmares to come…
