Arvind Kejriwal News LIVE Updates: Delhi CM to make big expose in excise policy case in court today

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is likely to be produced before a Delhi court on Thursday on the conclusion of his Enforcement Directorate (ED) custodial remand. The federal probe agency had arrested Kejriwal on March 21 in connection with an excise policy-linked money laundering case.

The next day, Special Judge Kaveri Baweja remanded him in the ED custody till March 28. The court remanded Kejriwal in the ED custody for six days after the agency pressed for his custodial interrogation for 10 days.

Amazon makes largest three-decade external investment, adds $2.75 billion to AI startup Anthropic

Amazon has announced its largest external investment in its three-decade history. The e-commerce behemoth said it is injecting $2.75 billion into Anthropic, a San Francisco-based startup renowned for its advancements in generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology, according to a CNBC report.
This latest injection of capital follows an initial $1.25 billion investment made in September, bringing Amazon's total commitment to Anthropic to a whopping $4 billion.

Anthropic, founded by former OpenAI research executives and employees, has been making waves in the AI landscape with its products.

Indian banks reported frauds worth Rs 5.3 lakh crore in last 10 years

Indian banks reported frauds worth Rs 5.3 lakh crore in the last decade, showed Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data made available in response to a right to information (RTI) petition filed by Moneycontrol. The data showed that banks, both private and public sector, reported a total of 4,62,733 frauds between 2013-14 and 2022-23.

In response to Moneycontrol’s queries on the details of bank frauds in the last 10 financial years by state and Union territory, the RTI reply showed that Maharashtra reported the highest number of frauds, followed by Delhi, Haryana, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Karnataka, Gujarat, Telangana, West Bengal and Rajasthan were next with total bank frauds between 8,000 to 12,000 in the last 10 financial years.

Adobe collaborates with Microsoft to provide better workflows and insights to marketers

Adobe announced on Wednesday its plans to integrate Adobe Experience Cloud workflows and insights into Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365. This move aims to assist marketers in overcoming application and data silos, ultimately enhancing their ability to manage daily tasks with greater efficiency.

The announcement was made in collaboration with Microsoft and was among many others made during the Adobe Summit digital conference.

India's richest woman Savitri Jindal may join BJP

India's richest woman Savitri Jindal may join the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday, March 28. The development comes ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

On March 24, her son and former Congress MP Naveen Jindal joined the saffron party and he was named as the party's candidate from Kurukshetra Lok Sabha seat in Haryana.

Jindal, who represented the Kurukshetra constituency in Lok Sabha from 2004-14 as a Congress MP, quit the opposition party on Sunday, and said he wants to contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's agenda of 'Viksit Bharat'.

Congress drops Supriya Shrinate amid controversy over Kangana Ranaut remarks

In a significant move, the Congress Party has decided to replace Supriya Shrinate as its candidate from the Maharajganj constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, according to media reports.

Shrinate, who contested from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh in the 2019 polls but was defeated by the BJP's Pankaj Chaudhary, has been dropped following widespread criticism of her recent comments regarding actor Kangana Ranaut, who is the BJP's candidate from Himachal Pradesh's Mandi constituency, NDTV reported.

Uttar Pradesh, a politically crucial state, sends 80 MPs to Lok Sabha — the highest in the country. The state will vote in seven phases starting April 19. The result will be announced on June 4.

The BJP will contest the most seats in the NDA. While the Congress will field its candidates in 17 constituencies, the rest, 63 seats, will be distributed between the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party and other members of the Opposition's INDIA bloc.

Swiggy plans to go for IPO around festive season in 2024: Report

Swiggy is planning to go for a public listing this year, as per a report by Entrackr, which added that the food delivery platform will file papers for IPO by May and ultimately go IPO around the festive season. Swiggy will seek valuation in the range of $12-15 billion, the report said quoting sources.
The foodtech and quick commerce platform is exploring a secondary market deal as it wants to offer exits to its early as well as late-stage backers, as per the report.

Canva acquires Affinity Design: Report

Canva has acquired the Affinity suite of creative software popular with Mac users, securing its biggest acquisition to date in an effort to compete with Adobe.

The deal, which is a mix of cash and stock, is valued at “several hundred million pounds,” Canva cofounder and chief operating officer Cliff Obrecht said in an interview with Bloomberg. Joining Canva is the entire 90-person team of Nottingham, UK-based Serif, the startup responsible for Affinity’s portfolio of photo-editing, publishing and illustration software.
