PRIEST RIVER, Idaho - Protesters outside Priest River Junior High have continued to gather as more concerned parents and students demand the right to be heard. 

The ongoing protest came from a walkout that was staged by a large group of students for what they said was a lack of school action on a serious safety threat on Tuesday. 

Parents supported the walkout by demanding communication from the school staff and the superintendent online and in protests held on Wednesday. 

Joseph Kren, the Interim West Bonner County School District Superintendent had the chance to talk to students and parents after the walkout to address concerns. 

He spoke to the students saying that the principal (Glazier) was doing "everything in her power" to which parents and students shouted out "that's not true."

Parents still concerned with the lack of action and communication even took to Facebook starting a page named "Get Loretta Glazier Fired Priest River Jr. High" expressing their concerns with the principal. 

Parents through the page organized another protest but this time at the school board meeting on Wednesday evening.  

Parents were present for the board meeting where Kren addressed the concerns and gave the next steps. 

"There was a walkout at the Junior High and as far as I'm concerned, it was for all the right reasons. I truly mean that," said Kren. 

He outlined to the board that the school is planning an assembly on Monday at school where both students and parents are welcome to attend. 

A few things that they plan to discuss in that assembly are how students will readjust at school, help students point out and understand bullying, cell phone usage at school, the negative impacts of social media and giving counseling resources for students who still feel unsafe or unheard. 

Kren concluded the meeting by saying that open and active communication with parents was "long overdue."

Principal Glazier didn't speak at the meeting but will be present for the assembly on Monday.
