BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) – The report of a weapon at Bristol Eastern High School on Wednesday led to a police investigation.

The school was placed into a “secure school” mode after police and the board of education received a report that a student may have had a weapon.

Police said Bristol officers and school administration responded immediately. The student was then removed from class.

“Although this is an ongoing investigation, this incident was deemed to not be a threat to the school or community and no weapon was found,” said Bristol police.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Bristol Police Department.

“Our response will be swift, our investigation thorough, and consequences in accordance with the laws of this state,” Bristol police said.
