South by Southwest is always a star-studded affair, thanks to the bevy of panels, premieres, and performances that take place during the weeklong music, film, and tech festival. On the first day alone this year, we got appearances from notable attendees including Duchess Meghan, Selena Gomez, Brooke Shields, and Jake Gyllenhaal. And now, Emily Blunt has arrived. Fresh off attending the Oscars, the actor made an entrance at the festival in a hypnotic, ab-baring ensemble from Balmain.

Blunt and her stylist, Jessica Paster, pulled a matching crop top and cardigan from the French fashion house’s Pre-Fall ’24 collection. The set’s black-and-white diamond pattern gave it a harlequin-style air.

The mock-neck crop top featured a thick black band down the center, dotted with large enamel studs that repeated on the two front pockets as well. Blunt’s matching long-sleeved cardigan had square shoulder pads, and she left it hanging open to reveal her exposed midriff.

In the original Pre-Fall collection photos, the Balmain pieces were paired with light-wash jeans and black heels, but the Quiet Place star and her stylist decided to keep the color scheme going, instead adding a pair of black slacks and rounding out the look with bright white sneakers.

Blunt kept her hair pulled back, and she accessorized with golden dangle earrings that looked like chains. She wore bronzy makeup.

The busy patterned look was an unexpected choice from the Oppenheimer actor, who has been opting for solids as of late. At the Oscars, Blunt sported a light gold Schiaparelli gown that was encrusted with clear crystals and featured floating straps. Then, for the Vanity Fair after-party, she wore a baby-pink corset dress from Dolce & Gabbana constructed out of lace.
