DECATUR — The Decatur Adult Baseball League has rebranded itself as the Decatur Baseball Club and is taking registration for players.
The club plans to revitalize baseball in Decatur by giving adults a chance to continue playing competitive baseball, and by creating an avenue in which local high school-aged youth can play baseball throughout the summer. This has been a longtime goal of the organization because the option of park league ends when youth reach high school age.
Deadline to sign up is April 1.
The club’s goal is to build a competitive team with high school- and college-aged players who are looking to play a high level of baseball in the prestigious Eastern Illinois League. This will give young players the opportunity to play against prospective and active college players. There will be a tryout for the competitive team. Anyone that is cut from that tryout will be invited to play in the home league.
