WOODSTOCK, Vt. (WCAX) - A New York man was arrested in Woodstock for kidnapping someone from a domestic violence shelter.

At around 2:00 p.m. Friday, Rutland City Police were contacted by someone who was concerned that their family member had been kidnapped from a New York City shelter and were in the Rutland area.

Police say 21-year-old Jeuris Rosa of New York City was the kidnapper and was seen leaving the Rutland area and headed on Route 4 toward Woodstock.

Once notified, Rutland City Police were able to confirm Rosa was leaving the Rutland area, and both Windsor County Police and Woodstock Police were able to assist in tracking him down in Woodstock.

Rosa was apprehended and the unnamed victim was rescued. He is being held without bail and will be in court on Monday.
