The savvy parent took to Facebook to rave about the purse-friendly deal that she spotted at Hollywood Bowl.

She said: “Kids Party Bargain!

“Saw that Hollywood Bowl had a deal on for one game of bowling, food (hot dog or burger with fries) and a drink for £7.50, so booked it for my daughters birthday party.”

The mum shared how she had paid £60 for eight kids to attend the birthday party.

They were able to book the bowling lane for one hour 20 minutes and then they were going to try the games in the arcade.

She added: “My plan is to then give each kid some change to go to the arcade, take a cake and boom! Party for under £100.

“Apparently you get 10 mins per person per game, so that’s why it’s 1hr 20 mins, and looks like not all locations offer it but worth a check.

“In my situation no other parents will be present and so I won’t be paying for additional bowlers.”

Hundreds of parents have liked her post on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK page.

And many seemed keen to take advantage of the party deal for their own kids.

One said: “Thanks for this. Just booked for my daughters birthday.”

According to a new study from the UK’s leading money-saving brand, Voucher Cloud, has revealed that over two thirds of British parents throw their children a birthday party every single year - and the costs can be high.

  • Average spend on party - £320.50
  • Average spend on presents - £175.80

If Tracy and Pete had spent the typical prices for birthdays it would have cost them a staggering £6,500 a year for the entire clan or almost £120,000 for all the children over eighteen years.

She told Fabulous: “People will probably be shocked by this but I’ve never thrown any of my children a birthday party.

“It’s saved our family tens of thousands of pounds over the years.”

Tracy says her children went to “more than 1k birthday parties throughout primary school” so she set present-buying limits.

“I only allowed the kids’ to spend £3 on a present for their friend, which could be anything from sweets to colouring sets or small toys. It’s the thought that counts.”

Tracy and Pete would always make each child their favourite flavoured birthday cake at home.

They’d then have a family dinner, and celebrate with a roast, a BBQ or a favourite meal.
