Two baby bobcats found as orphans in California now have a new home at Audubon Zoo in New Orleans.

The male bobcats were transported to Audubon Zoo earlier this month, according to a press release.

Called kittens, the bobcats are very active and can be seen in the Louisiana Swamp exhibit at the zoo.

The 1-year-old kittens are close in age but aren't brothers, the release said. They have been named Creole and Chinchuba, which means “alligator” in the Choctaw language. They were raised at the Wildlife Care of Southern California rehabilitation center before making the trip to the Crescent City.

Bobcats typically live three to four years in the wild, but have much longer life spans when raised by humans in wildlife refuges and zoos.

Audubon Zoo was home to bobcats Choctaw and Redbone until they died at ages 20 and 18, respectively.
