Cartersville woman celebrates milestone birthday as she turns 100

CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — A Cartersville woman is celebrating a milestone birthday as she turns 100 years old. 

Ruth Ann Summey's birthday, March 11, 1924, was celebrated with grand ceremonies at a Cartersville assisted living facility.

Ruth Ann is currently a resident of Tiger Lily Estates Assisted Living. According to the assisted living facility, she is the last Charter Member of LifePoint Church on Tennessee Street. 

According to her son, Charles, she has been a member of the church since 1949 and is very religious. 

Before his passing, she was married to her husband for 69 years. 

Her son added that she loves cats, solving puzzles and animals. She also loves playing bingo at the assisted living facility.

"She just loves people," her son Charles told 11Alive on Monday.
