Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a man was hit and killed by a passing car while he was lying in the roadway.Investigators said the crash happened around 10:21 p.m. on Friday along Banana River Drive near Central Avenue. Troopers said a 2017 Chevy Traverse heading northbound on Banana River Drive hit a man who was lying in the SUV's direct path.The 29-year-old Merritt Island man was killed in the crash.The driver of the Chevy was not injured and remained on scene.Troopers are still investigating what led up to the crash.
