MARIANNA, Arkansas — An investigation is underway after a shooting incident involving a 2-year-old child occurred on Sunday, March 3 in Marianna.
According to reports, a child playing near an apartment complex on Sealand Street was shot as a result of an altercation between two people outside the building.
The child was transported to a hospital in Memphis, TN, and remains in critical condition.
The Marianna Police Department requested assistance from Arkansas State Police's Criminal Investigation Division to investigate the incident.
Investigators were able to identify two suspects in connection with the incident. One juvenile suspect was taken into custody this morning, while officials are still searching for a 22-year-old suspect from Marianna.
