Michelle Troconis’ booking photo released by Dept. of Correction
NIANTIC, CT (WFSB) - Michelle Troconis remained behind bars on Monday after jurors returned a guilty verdict Friday morning.
The state Department of Correction on Monday released her booking photo.
Troconis woke up at Saturday at York Correctional in Niantic.
She arrived at the prison Friday evening after she was found guilty of all charges and was expected to stay there at least through the weekend
Despite Troconis’ defense attorney Jon Schoenhorn stressing she was not a flight risk, the judge raised her bond from $2 million to $6 million on Friday.
According to her lawyer, that amount was too steep for her to get out immediately, but he expected her to be out soon.
The prosecution asked the judge for her to be placed on GPS monitoring if she makes bail.
Schoenhorn said he was focused getting bond for his client and filing post-trial motions.
According to former state chief attorney Chris Morano, all motions must be filed within the next five days to be successful.
May 31 is when sentencing was scheduled for Troconis.
She faces a maximum of 50 years in prison.
