MUSCODA, Wis. (WKOW) -- Muscoda police have issued multiple citations to a man who crashed an ATV while riding with his 6-year-old son.

The crash was reported on March 16 when a 33-year-old crashed an ATV into the side of a trailer.

According to police, the ATV was heading south on Second Street near Riverdale Ag Service and Warehouse Street. The man's 6-year-old son was riding with him, sitting in front.

Police say the ATV was traveling about 34 mph in a 25 mph zone seconds before the crash. They say the man failed to stop at the stop sign located on Second Street at Warehouse Street before crashing into the side of an enclosed trailer that was being pulled west.

The man has been released from the hospital but his son still remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition.

The man has been cited for several ATV and ordinance violations, including, but not limited to, operating an ATV without a valid license and operating an ATV in a careless manner.

Police say once toxicology results are received the case will be forwarded to the Grant County District Attorney for review.
